• Display name: The name you enter when starting a session. This is stored locally on your device and shared only during active sessions.
• Location data: Your GPS coordinates are collected only during active sharing sessions that you explicitly start.
• Session data: Temporary session identifiers used to connect you with friends who are following your journey.

How We Use Your Information

• To share your real-time location with people you choose to share it with during an active session
• To display your location on a map for your friends to track your journey home
• To notify your friends when you mark yourself as safe

Data Retention

We prioritize minimal data retention:

• Location data is ephemeral — it exists only during active sessions and is not stored permanently
• Sessions are temporary by nature, typically lasting only a few hours
• No location history is maintained after a session ends
• Your display name is stored only on your device

No Account Required

Ya En Casa does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in. There is no user registration process.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your location is shared only with people who have your session link or QR code — people you explicitly choose to share with.

Background Location

When you start a session, the App may request permission to access your location in the background. This allows your friends to continue tracking your journey even when the App is not in the foreground. Background location access is used only during active sessions and stops completely when you end the session or mark yourself as safe.

Security

Sessions are identified by unique, randomly generated codes. Only people who have your specific session code can view your location. We use secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
